Job Title: Advanced Technical Trainer – Bus and Coach

Location: Manchester

Pay: £29,470.00 - £40,631.00 per annum (DOE)

Hours: 37 hours per week

Contract Type: Permanent

About the Role

Our client’s Academy of Engineering covers Agricultural, Motor Vehicle and Large Transport Vehicle Engineering, including Bus and Coach, Construction Plant, and Rail. With multiple training facilities across campus, learners benefit from a hands-on, industry-focused environment that prepares them for successful careers.

Due to continued growth, we are seeking a motivated and innovative Advanced Technical Trainer to deliver high-quality training and assessment for Bus and Coach apprentices on block release. This is a vital role supporting learners to achieve industry-recognised qualifications and succeed in their careers.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Deliver high-quality apprenticeship training aligned with industry and accreditation standards
  • Provide engaging theory sessions, practical workshops, and assessments
  • Inspire, mentor and support apprentices throughout their learning journey
  • Conduct vocational assessments both on-site and off-site as part of national programmes
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the Engineering department to share knowledge and best practice
  • Build strong relationships with employer partners and provide ongoing guidance
  • Ensure all activities comply with health & safety, safeguarding and industry regulations

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Industry experience in Bus and Coach operations, maintenance, or engineering
  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject area
  • Strong teaching, training, or mentoring experience (teaching qualification desirable but not essential)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good knowledge of industry regulations, health & safety, and qualification frameworks
  • A passion for innovation and developing the next generation of engineering professionals

All candidates who register with Reed Further Education will have 2 years’ referencing taken up and will be required to have a DBS check completed. All offers are conditional upon satisfactory background checks.
