Techniche Global is supporting a leading manufacturing and engineering company based in Birmingham in appointing a Maintenance & Design Engineer.\n\n📍 Birmingham | Up to £50,000 + Benefits | Permanent | Days | Hybrid\n\n This is a varied, hands-on role combining maintenance engineering, fault finding, CAD design, prototyping, and engineering project work. You'll join a small engineering team supporting production equipment, tooling, customer products, and continuous improvement initiatives.\n\n What we're looking for:\n \nExperience in electromechanical maintenance, manufacturing, workshop, field service, or prototype engineering \nStrong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills \nHands-on experience with workshop machinery, tooling, CNC equipment, and maintenance activities \nCAD design experience, ideally using 3D modelling software \nPractical problem-solving ability and a willingness to get involved across a wide range of engineering challenges \n18th Edition qualification desirable Key responsibilities:\n \nMaintain and repair production machinery, tooling, and equipment \nCarry out fault finding, breakdown response, and preventative maintenance \nProduce CAD models, technical drawings, and engineering documentation \nSupport prototype development, product improvements, and R&D projects \nAssist with site maintenance and engineering improvement initiatives \nOccasionally provide engineering support at customer sites This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing engineering business offering a technically diverse role with strong long-term career potential
