Metrology Engineer\n\nDeeside, North Wales\n£42,000 - £52,000 + Benefits + Overtime\nPermanent | Full Time\n\nA growing precision engineering and inspection business is looking to appoint an experienced Metrology Engineer to join their team in Deeside. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong background in dimensional inspection, CMM programming and quality control to work on complex, high-spec components for aerospace, defence, automotive and advanced manufacturing customers.\n\nYou'll play a key role in ensuring parts meet exacting standards, supporting both internal production and customer projects, and working closely with engineering, manufacturing and quality teams.\n\nWhat you'll be doing\n\nCarrying out dimensional inspection of components and assemblies using CMMs, FARO Arms, laser scanning systems and conventional metrology equipment.\n\nCreating, editing and optimising CMM programs using software such as PC-DMIS, PolyWorks, MCOSMOS, Aberlink or similar.\n\nReading and interpreting complex engineering drawings, CAD models and GD&T requirements.\n\nProducing accurate inspection reports, FAIRs and other quality documentation.\n\nSupporting root cause analysis and non-conformance investigations.\n\nLiaising with Quality, Manufacturing and Engineering teams to resolve dimensional and process issues.\n\nCompleting first-off, in-process and final inspections.\n\nSupporting calibration and maintenance of metrology equipment.\n\nContributing to continuous improvement across inspection and quality processes.\n\nWhat we're looking for\n\nPrevious experience as a Metrology Engineer, CMM Programmer or Senior Inspector.\n\nStrong understanding of GD&T.\n\nExperience using CMM equipment and portable metrology systems.\n\nAbility to read complex engineering drawings with confidence.\n\nBackground in precision engineering, aerospace, automotive or defence manufacturing.\n\nStrong problem-solving skills and a high level of attention to detail.\n\nDesirable experience\n\n3D scanning or reverse engineering.\n\nKnowledge of AS9100 or ISO9001.\n\nCAD experience.\n\nExperience with PolyWorks or PC-DMIS.\n\nQualifications\n\nEngineering apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing or a related discipline.\n\nMetrology or quality-related certifications would be an advantage.\n\nWhat's on offer\n\nCompetitive salary.\n\nOvertime opportunities.\n\nPension scheme.\n\nOngoing training and development.\n\nModern inspection and manufacturing environment.\n\nCareer progression within a growing business.\n\n25 days holiday plus bank holidays.\n\nThis would suit someone who enjoys working in a hands-on technical role where accuracy, quality and continuous improvement really matter.\n\nINDENG\nDCS Recruitment and all associated companies are committed to creating a working environment where diversity is celebrated and everyone is treated fairly, regardless of gender, gender identity, disability, ethnic origin, religion or belief, sexual orientation, marital or transgender status, age, or nationality
