Sen Teaching Assistant

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of vulnerable young people across the Liverpool area.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * \n\n Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with diverse learning needs.\n\n * \n\n Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and facilitate engaging learning activities.\n\n * \n\n Manage challenging behaviour with patience, using de-escalation techniques.\n\n * \n\n Assist with personal care and mobility requirements where necessary.\n\n * \n\n Monitor student progress and provide detailed feedback to the Class Teacher and parents.\n\n * \n\n Foster a safe, nurturing, and positive classroom environment.\n\nRequirements\n\n * \n\n Experience: Previous experience supporting children or adults with SEN (school-based or care settings).\n\n * \n\n Attributes: A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to student engagement.\n\n * \n\n Skills: Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.\n\n * \n\n Desirable: Knowledge of British Sign Language (BSL), PECS, or Makaton is a plus, but not essential.\n\n * \n\n Compliance: A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).\n\n * \n\n Availability: Ability to work full-time (Monday – Friday, 08:30 – 15:30) during term time.\n\nWhat We Offer\n\n * \n\n Competitive Pay: £85 - £110 per day, paid weekly via PAYE.\n\n * \n\n Expert Support: A dedicated consultant to guide you through your placement.\n\n * \n\n Professional Development: Access to free CPD and training, including Safeguarding and Team Teach.\n\n * \n\n Environment: The opportunity to work in forward-thinking Liverpool schools with excellent facilities.\n\n * \n\n Rewards: "Refer a Friend" bonus schemes.\n\nHow to Apply\n\nIf you are a dedicated SEN TA looking for a new challenge in Liverpool, we want to hear from you.
