Lead Software Delivery Manager

Location: Central Manchester (Hybrid, 2 days onsite)Salary: £80,000 to £90,000 plus bonus

Overview

We are working with an established organisation in the gaming and betting industry to appoint a Lead Software Delivery Manager. Operating within a fast paced and regulated environment, this role offers a strong opportunity to shape how delivery, product leadership, and coaching functions operate together at scale.

You will lead multiple Agile teams, aligning engineering delivery with product strategy while embedding modern performance measures such as OKRs, Flow Metrics, and DORA metrics to drive sustainable improvement.

Key ResponsibilitiesDelivery Leadership

Oversee delivery across multiple teams and functional areas, ensuring alignment with business priorities Promote and continuously improve Agile delivery practices within a regulated setting Apply Flow Metrics, DORA metrics, and OKRs to understand delivery performance, identify risks, and drive improvement Manage dependencies across teams and remove blockers to maintain consistent delivery * Use data and insight to support roadmap planning, prioritisation, and stakeholder discussions

Alignment Across Product, Delivery and Coaching

Develop a strong understanding of the product, engineering, and leadership landscape Work closely with Product teams to define clear goals, outcomes, and success measures Provide clarity and structure to technical and solution discussions Balance delivery oversight with coaching to encourage team ownership and accountability * Support leaders in evolving operating models and embedding continuous improvement

Coaching and Team Development

Act as a coach and mentor, fostering openness, experimentation, and strong decision making Help teams understand and achieve high performance both individually and collectively Provide clear guidance, frameworks, and transparency to support delivery Strengthen team maturity and their ability to perform effectively in a fast moving environment

Leadership and Culture

Communicate direction, priorities, and expectations clearly across teams Encourage a collaborative culture where ideas are aligned with shared objectives Stay aware of organisational, cultural, and technical influences on delivery Create an environment where teams can grow, collaborate, and deliver at their best

What We're Looking ForEssential Skills and Experience

Proven experience leading multiple Agile teams or complex delivery programmes within a software engineering environment Strong background in software delivery with a clear understanding of modern engineering practices Deep knowledge of Agile and Lean approaches including Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, or LeSS Hands on experience using Flow Metrics such as cycle time, throughput, and work in progress, alongside DORA metrics and OKRs Ability to use data and insights to drive measurable improvements in delivery Strong leadership, coaching, and stakeholder management capabilities Experience delivering software within regulated industries such as gaming, gambling, or fintech Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI CD pipelines, and highly available systems

Desirable

Experience working in large scale or enterprise Agile environments Knowledge of tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, and Confluence Experience with outcome driven planning and advanced delivery dashboards Relevant certifications such as CSM, SAFe, ICAgile, or PMI ACP

What's on Offer
