Job Advertisement: Student & Academic Support Officer\n\nAre you passionate about enhancing the student experience and providing exceptional support in an academic environment? Our client, a renowned educational institution in London, is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Student & Academic Support Officer to join their team on a temporary basis with potential for permanent placement.\n\nLocation: London (3 days onsite per week)\n Contract: 5 months (with temp to perm potential)\n Rate: £19.59 per hour PAYE\n\nWhat You'll Do:\n\nAs a Student & Academic Support Officer, you will play a vital role in delivering a high-quality student experience. Your key responsibilities will include:\n\nProviding seamless customer service to staff and students, addressing queries via multiple channels, including phone, email, and face-to-face interactions.\nStudent Support Duties: The role involves answering student queries about programmes and modules, providing general support, and engaging in specialist tasks such as managing complex cases with guidance from experienced colleagues\nManaging complex student cases, ensuring confidentiality and data integrity.\nMarking Tracker Updates: The role includes updating a large marking tracker spreadsheet alongside three or four colleagues, monitoring assignment completion, and escalating issues when marking is not completed on time\nAssisting with the monitoring of student attendance, including data collection and record-keeping.\nSupporting course teams with tutorial organization, communication, and module sign-ups.\nOrganizing student progression boards and academic advisor allocations.\nCollaborating with colleagues to facilitate University-wide activities such as enrolment, Welcome Week, and graduation.\nMaintaining and populating course Moodle pages and supporting various course-level activities, from student events to external speaker arrangements.Who You Are:\n\nThe ideal candidate will possess:\n\nA degree or equivalent work experience.\nRequires some knowledge of university operations, ideally from a background in university administration or student support\nStrong relationship-building skills with professional and academic staff at all levels.\nProficiency in IT systems and Microsoft packages.\nAn understanding of confidentiality and equality issues related to staff and student matters.\n What Sets You Apart:\n\nA self-motivated and proactive problem solver with a knack for analysing options and making informed decisions.\nExperience in servicing academic committees, including minute-taking and report writing.\nA good grasp of broader issues affecting students within the sector.\nFamiliarity with Quality Assurance processes in Higher Education.\n Skills You Bring:\n\nCreativity in identifying and implementing improvements to procedures and systems.\nExcellent numeracy skills for data analysis using spreadsheets.\nOutstanding written and oral communication skills, enabling effective interaction with individuals both internally and externally.Why Join Us?\n\nThis is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a vibrant academic community while developing your skills in a supportive environment.
